Primitive Methodist Magazine 1911

Transcription of Magazine ‘Sketch’

Mr. Thomas Lowes, “Chancellor” of the North Shields Circuit, is a life-long Primitive Methodist, and a member of an Earsdon family, which for many years has distinguished itself by its unstinted devotion to our Church. His genial and robust individuality is one of the strong links sustaining the Circuit’s unity amid the diversities of town and country societies. He is not only a successful administrator in the field of finance, but also a popular preacher of the Word, School Superintendent, and Secretary to the North Shields Trust. All his varied activities for the Church are characterised by a passion for God, a manly piety, and a wholehearted faith in the mission of Primitive Methodism. Alert to the signs of the Kingdom of God, he is always identified with progressive movements. Everything which makes for the enrichment of the life of the people commands his warmest sympathy and his untiring support.
