Elstronwick Primitive Methodist chapel
Linda

Thanks to Linda for sending us the picture of the chapel together with the following information.

“Attached is a photo of Elstronwick Chapel in the South Holderness Circuit. It is still open, and since removing the pews a few years ago has been used as a community space too. Services happen most weeks and special services for Easter, Christmas and Harvest alternate between the chapel and Anglican church along the road. The ecumenical Messy Church which happens every school holiday is very popular, as are the Charity Coffee Mornings with quiz.”

The chapel is dated 1853

The laying of the foundation stones for a new schoolroom at what it calls Elsternwick Primitive Methodist chapel is recorded in the Primitive Methodist magazine of October 1894
