Leake Fold Hill Primitive Methodist chapels
Keith Guyler 1995

The first Leake Fold Hill Primitive Methodist chapel dates from 1839

The Leake Fold Hill chapel in the picture dates from 1881 and served until 1946. It was sold in 1947 and by the time of Keith Guyler’s photograph in 1995 the chapel was derelict and the Sunday school was in commercial use. It is little changed on Google Street View in 2009.

The notes with Keith Guyler’s picture identify the two buildings as the chapels of 1839 and 1881.  However, Lincolnshire Heritage Gateway pictures label the building at the front as the 1881 chapel with the building at the rear as the Sunday School. This is also how the buildings are labelled on the 1888 1:2,500 Ordnance Survey map.

There is a further note with Keith Guyler’s photograph which says “Church End 1856?” but the meaning of that is not clear.
