Macclesfield Bourne Primitive Methodist Chapel, Byrons Street
1844-1960
Bourne Primitive Methodist Chapel was built in Byrons Street in 1844, and the Primitive Methodist magazine tells us it was “providing increased accommodation for worship at a cost of some £500”. The chapel was rebuilt in 1905, closed in 1960, and subsequently sold. The building has since been demolished.
The Statistical Returns of 1940 state that the chapel was a brick building, with pews to seat 170 people. There was a school hall and three other rooms.
