  • Marton is a small village about 6 miles south of Gainsborough. It should not be confused with Morton by Gainsborough, where there was also a Primitive Methodist Chapel.

The Lincs from the Past records that the chapel was part of Scotter Circuit from 1836 until 1864. From 1864 until its closure in 1915 it was part of the Gainsborough Circuit.
