The first Primitive Methodist chapel was built in 1850.The second in 1924 is still open for worship in 2013.

The November 1850 Primitive Methodist magazine (page 690-691) contains an account by Phiilip Pugh of the opening of Minsterley Primitive Methodist chapel from September 1st 1850, some 30 years after the village was first missioned. Preachers included John Petty (Brierley Hill), Mr. Thomas, Philip Pugh and Mr George.
The chapel measured 27′ x 33′ x 13′ and the development included two cottages to provide an income and a burial ground in front of the chapel. It cost £400 of which they had raised £130.
The site on the Grove was bought from William Naylor. The 1850 chapel still exists in residential use.
