The Hunstanworth History website provides some historical information about Ramshaw Primitive Methodist Chapel, in Blackburn Terrace.

The 1877 Primitive Methodist magazine records  the laying of the memorial  stones for the new Primitive Methodist chapel in Ramshaw. We are told nothing more.

On Street View in 2009 it appears that the chapel still exists, at the end of what was Blackburn Terrace, although on the opposite side of the valley to the Street View position. It is in residential use.

Take care: Howard Richter points out that there are two Ramshaws in County Durham. This one “is 10 miles west of Consett and almost into Northumberland at Lat. 54 deg 50′ and Long. 2 deg  04′ or thereabouts. Its GR is NY 9534 4789 in round numbers.”

You can see details of the other one – near Bishop Auckland – here.
