Rushton Primitive Methodist chapel

Rushton, KETTERING

former Rushton Primitive Methodist chapel
Keith Guyler 1996

The chapel was opened in 1904 and closed in the 1960s.  It accommodated 120 people and at the time of Keith Guyler’s photograph was in use as the village hall.

The 1905 Primitive Methodist magazine reports the opening of the chapel following the work of Rev Bicheno in missioning the village two and a half years previously. After meeting in a rented room , they built a new chapel and school costing £600.  There were then 36 members who had raised over £360 towards the cost.
