Salisbury Dews Rd Primitive Methodist chapel

Dews Road Primitive Methodist chapel

The notes accompanying Keith Guyler’s photograph say that Dews Road Primitive Methodist chapel was opened in 1917.  It served until 1987 when it was sold and became the Elim Christian Centre, which is still its use in May 2014.

However, I’m a bit confused by the Wiltshire Community History website which implies that it is actually a Wesleyan Methodist chapel.  It is certainly an impressive building which contrasts markedly with most Primitive Methodist designs.  Mind you, Salisbury is the relatively prosperous end of the County. The resolution comes with the 1925 1;2,500 Ordnance Survey map which clearly labels it as a PM church.
