The laying in August 1891 of the foundation stones for what it calls Wattlesborough Heath Primitive Methodist chapel is recorded in the Primitive Methodist magazine of 1893.  The chapel, which is freehold, is sited on the Loton estate.  The site was given by Sir Baldwin Leighton (Lord de Tabley) and his daughter laid one of the stones.  Lady Leighton sent a £50 donation to the chapel and continued to support it.
