  • My family has a long association with Wellow Wood Chapel. The original 1910 chapel was in Sherfield English Lane, just around the corner from the new 1967 chapel in Wellow Wood Road. The original chapel was built of sheets of corrugated iron. I was taking the service at Wellow Wood Chapel this morning (16 October 2022) and the original site, which is now very overgrown, can still be seen just before turning right to where the new chapel is situation. The chapel is no longer Methodist as the congregation chose to go independent in 2022.
