West Bromwich circuit chapels
The Primitive Methodist magazine for May 1854 contains an article by Joseph Grieves about chapels in the West Bromwich circuit.
His concern is that “within a circle of three miles from the centre of the circuit stand twelve good connexional chapels to which are attached six schoolrooms and six dwelling houses. Fears were entertained by some (and not without reason) that such a number of chapels, grouped together within such a small compass, would injure each other and ultimately be an evil rather than a good.”
He gives information on some of the chapels which he says are “progressing favourably.”:-
- Toll End
- Gun Village
- Lea Brook
- Spon Lane
- Gold’s Green
