William Clowes

Grave: Hull General Cemetery

A group at Clowes Memorial Church in North Hull are seeking to make the grave more well known and accessible  to people interested in Methodist Heritage. The site which was very overgrown is now largely cleared thanks to the efforts of Hull City Council and volunteer groups. It is hoped to provide interpretation leaflets and signs to be included in a history trail of the cemetery. The grave can be found a by taking the path immediately behind the shops at the junction of Spring Bank West and Princes Avenue in Hull (HU5 3RU).

  • I have photographed all the graves in Primitive Methodist Corner, and they can be found at ‘Billion Graves.com’. The site will give you the exact location of each grave. Just search on Hull General Cemetery, and look for the graves at the most easterly end.
