Mason, William Henry (1854-1940)
Early years
William was born in 1854 at Dudley, Staffordshire to parents Edmund and Sarah Ann. Edmund was a boiler maker.
William was converted in his early teen and served as a Sunday School teacher and then a local preacher before entering the ministry. William worked in the steel works as a youth.
Ministry
His obituary records that William loved to preach, and was ever willing to help, but his greatest strength and fruitfulness was in his pastoral work. He was a constant and systematic visitor, and in time of sorrow and bereavement his ministry was effective and precious.
Family
William married Elizabeth Ann Gerrard (1861-1905) on 8 October 1880 at Swinton, Lancashire. Census returns identify five children.

William married Sarah Elizabeth Randles (1867-1941) in early 1907 at Newcastle under Lyme, Staffordshire.
William died on 31 May 1940 at Newcastle under Lyme, Staffordshire.
