Roe, Henry - Funeral

Amid many signs of respect the funeral of the late Rev Henry Roe took place on Sunday afternoon. The chief mourners being Mr. E. Roe from Bedford (son), Mrs. Campbell (daughter) and Miss Flo Richards (grand daughter) with a good representative gathering of townspeople. The first part of the service was conducted in the Primitive Methodist Church by the Superintendent Minister Rev. R M Rutter assisted by the Rev. A Colbeck (UMC). Mr. Rutter conveyed a message to the bereaved from the General Secretary of the Primitive Methodist Church. The organist (Miss French) played “O rest in the Lord” and the “Dead March in Saul” and the hymns “Jesu, lover of my soul” and “Rock of Ages” were sung. The Rev. R M Rutter concluded the service at the graveside.
