    COCKSHUTFORD
LAYING FOUNDATION STONES OF A NEW CHAPEL.
On Thursday week the corner stones of a new Primitive Methodist chapel were laid at Cockshutford in the Primrosse Bank branch of Ludlow circuit, by Messrs. T. Smith, F. Smith, T. Childes, and Mrs Childes, besides which a number of smaller stones were laid by different persons present, who all placed liberal contributions to the building fund on the stones laid by them. The Rev. B. Salt then addressed the assembly. The Doxology was sung, and the Benediction pronounced, and thus closed the proceedings, which were of a very interesting nature. The amount raised on the occasion was £17 11s., which was considered very good, seeing that, in the adjoining neighbourhood, upwards of £30 was realized on a similar occation a fortnight before.
