  • The opening was in October 1861, probably on the 6th, and there is an account of it by Joseph Moles in the Primitive Methodist magazine of December 1861 (pages 743-744). The village was first missioned from Darlaston around 1820 and the society met in Mr Moles’ house or barn until he had to move away.

Preachers at the opening included Mr. B Owens, of Bewdley, Mrs. Gwillim and Rev. J.Smith.

The chapel cost £85 of which £50 had been raised.
