  • There’s an account by R Ward in the Primitive Methodist magazine (1836 p.230) of the opening of a previous Drake’s Broughton Primitive Methodist chapel in the Worcester branch of the Birmingham circuit.

The services took place on 24th and 27th September 1835 and the preachers were Rev T C Kean, Rev T  Wates and Mr J Harvey. Mr William Sherwood gave the land and there were 19 members in the society and a promising Sunday school.
