Cynon Valley, South Wales

Alan Vernon Jones’s book “Chapels of the Cynon Valley” gives information, some with drawings or photographs, concerning the following Primitive Methodist chapels:

Zion, Newtown (cause founded 1867 from Mountain Ash Primitives; chapel 1879)

Bethesda, Glyngwyn Street, Miskin, built 1891

Ebenezer, Mountain Ash (cause founded 1857 in a house and open air, first chapel 1857, new chapel over the road 1860)

Kelly’s Directory for 1920 adds:

• Rheola Street, Penrhiwceiber
• Zoar, Cwmbach
• Tabernacle, Commerce Place, Aberaman
• Bruce Street, Mountain Ash (built 1860)
