Yarm-on-Tees is a small market town situated on the River Tees. Its Primitive Methodist chapel is still in existence although no longer used for worship. In July 1999 it became the ‘ Fellowship Hall’ after a trust was set up. It is extensively used by the community to promote many activities.

The 1897 Primitive Methodist magazine (page 154) tells us that “a new chapel is in contemplation at Yarm in the Stockton on Tees station.”
Page 474 tells us that foundation stones were laid on April 29th 1897 by R Clapham Esq and Mrs Clapham. The building would cost £1,200. Rev John Atkinson of York took a leading part in the day’s proceedings.
