Pulfry, Mary (1760-1837)

1760-1837

Died at Barkstone, Bottesford circuit, Feb. 14,1837, aged seventy-seven, Mary Pulfry.  She had been in the way to heaven about thirty years, the last two of which she was in our society.  Her piety was deep, her confidence strong, and her prospects bright for a better world.  When she came to the closing scene, she spoke of death as a pleasing event, and made some preparation for her burial.  She said,

“Him eye to eye we there shall see,
Our face like his shall shine,” &c.

After a short period she said, “I am going from a world of grief and sin, to be with God eternally shut in.”  And then expired in the arms of her Redeemer.
