Knowle Primitive Methodist chapel shown in Keith Guyler’s photograph was opened in 1917. It was closed in the 1970s and at the time of the photograph in 2000 had been converted into a house.
An earlier tin chapel built at Knowle in 1879 cost £79 15s 8d. Primitive Methodists often built small, inexpensive chapels in rural areas. You can see more information and a further picture on Janice Cox’s website Shropshire’s Non-Conformist Chapels.
