Byron, William (b1795)

Born in March 1795.
William was a prominent Primitive Methodist in the Louth circuit. Kendall describes how, with John Maltby, he was Joint Treasurer of the General Missionary Fund from 1856 until 1862. He became a permant member of the PM Conference until his last visit in 1872 to the Yarmouth Conference. At that conference, William and his wife received the thanks of conference inscribed on parchment for their gift of £559 10s to various connexional funds.
The 1851 census records his occupation as a farmer of 342 acres, employing a total of 7 labourers.
