Carlton Colville is south west of Lowestoft. Carlton Colville Primitive Methodist chapel was opened in 1886 and served until replaced by a new church in 1960.  It is now a house called The Chapel which offers “Gothic arch doorways & double glazed windows throughout, cast iron spiral staircase, cast iron radiators and really thick walls.”

The Primitive Methodist magazine records the laying of the memorial stone for the chapel on Easter Monday 1886, thirty years after the village was first missioned. The stone was laid by Sir Saville Crossley.
