Stow Bedon Primitive Methodist chapel
Keith Guyler 1992

Stow Bedon Primitive Methodist chapel was founded in 1844 and renovated in 1923.  It served until the 1970s.

By the time of Keith Guyler’s photograph it was derelict. On Google Street View in 2011 it is still disused but an extensive new field fence, complete with opening for the chapel, together with clearing the area around it shows that someone was thinking about it.  What is it like now?

  • Norfolk Record Office:

Ref. SO 197/19?/1-93 (900X9): File S, to include Stow Bedon Primitive Methodist Chapel.

Ref. FC72/17: 1953-1968, Sale papers for Stow Bedon Chapel.

Note: References would need checking. The denomination for Chapel sale is not stated in the brief reference, so documents would have to be searched or ask a record office archivist.
