Great Hale Primitive Methodist chapel dates from 1851. It was originally a house when first used. It was known as Bourne - Clowes.

It closed in 1963.

There was also a Wesleyan Methodist chapel in Great Hale, enlarged in 1906

The photo is of the Wesleyan Methodist Church in great Hale. We live next to it on Church walk. The primitive chapel is in Chapel Lane and is also now A house. I could e mail you a photo if it would help and of so let me know where to send.

Thanks for correcting this Beverley - it's easy to get it wrong. I'll amend the page. I think the 1906 date for chapel enlargement does not relate to the Primitive Methodist chapel but comes from the original label on the Wesleyan chapel picture.
