DEATH OF MR. D.J. SNEATH
FUNERAL AT BARTHOLOMEW STREET
METHODIST CHURCH

The death took place at “Mardon,” Enborne-road, Newbury, on Wednesday last week of Mr. Donald James Sneath, at the age of 58 years. For the past two years he has been an invalid.

Mr. Sneath was born at Stevington, near Bedford, being the third son of Mr. and Mrs. John Sneath. He came to Newbury from Lambourn about 35 years ago and was in business as a hairdresser at 106, Bartholomew-street for some years. During the war he was engaged on service in Scottish waters with mine-sweepers.

Upon retiring from business owing to health reasons, he took up an outdoor occupation at Colthrop Board and Paper Mills. He regularly attended the Methodist Church, Bartholomew-street, where the first part of the funeral service took place on Monday afternoon.

The family mourners were: Mrs Sneath (widow), Mr. and Mrs. E.W. Smith, Mr. and Mrs. S.A. Plumb, Andover (sons-in-law and daughters), Mr. Sidney Sneath (brother), Mr. and Mrs. G. Quallington, Mr. J. Quallington (brothers-in-law and sister-in-law), Mr. G. Noon, Mr. A. Noon, (nephews), Mr. and Mrs. Palmer, Mr. G.E. Smith and Mr. H. (?) Seales.
