Marton-cum-Grafton Primitive Methodist chapel

Location of the 1882 Primitive Methodist chapel

By Christopher Hill

Marton-cum-Grafton Primitive Methodist chapel was opened in 1820. Opening services took place on Sunday and Monday 8th and 9th October 1820. Preachers at the opening were William Clowes, Sister Woolhouse and Brother Farrar.

In his report in the Primitive Methodist magazine, William Clowes declared that "we had a blessed visit from heaven."

On Google Street View there is an 1882 Primitive Methodist chapel adjacent to the Post Office on Reas Lane.  Was this the same site as the 1820 chapel?
