Return from Great Marlow Primitive Methodist chapel in the 1851 Census of Places of Public Religious Worship
Provided by David Tonks

The return to the 1851 Census of Places of Public Religious Worship tells us that Great Marlow Primitive Methodist chapel was opened in .1841.  The return was submitted by James Frewing of Dean Street Great Marlow and Joseph Clark.

The 1847 Primitive Methodist magazine tells us that in late 1846 the chapel was enlarged by the addition of a gallery that seated 70 people. It re-opened on January 17th 1847 with sermons by John Ride  and Edmund Rawlings who wrote the magazine account. The enlargement cost £36 of which they had raised £24.
