Return from East Sherborne Primitive Methodist chapel in the 1851 Census of Places of Public Religious Worship
Provided by David Tonks

The 1851 census of Places of Public Religious Worship contains an entry by Joseph Franklin, a local preacher, for East Sherborne Primitive Methodists in the Basingstoke District. They did not have a chapel, but met in a  “dwelling house” which claimed to seat  100 people. On census Sunday there were 126 present for the evening service.

Did they build a chapel and if so, what happened to it?
