Luton Hitchen Road Primitive Methodist chapel

The 1879 Primitive Methodist magazine records  the laying of the foundation stones for a new Primitive Methodist chapel in Luton at Hitchen Road.

The opening of Luton Hitchen Road Primitive Methodist chapel is recorded in the Primitive Methodist magazine of 1880.  We are told little more except that it cost £1,000 and the friends were “sanguine of success in this new sanctuary.”

The 1900 Ordnance Survey map shows a Primitive Methodist chapel on Hitchen Road opposite the junction with Guildford Street.

In 2018 the site is undergoing development.
