The memorial stones for a replacement Primitive Methodist chapel in Wallingford were laid in 1889. The new site was in the centre of the town, much better than the previous chapel which, although it served for over 50 years, its location was not the most desirable.
The new church still stands on St Mary’s Street and is owned by Ridgeway Community church. It still carries “Primitive Methodist” carved into the stonework.
