My wife and I were out taking photographs of former Primitive Methodist chapels to add to this website – when we drove past a building in use as a small-scale industrial hub which carried the words PRIMITIVE METHODIST CHURCH carved into the stone.
It turns out to be Bradley Cottages Primitive Methodist chapel. It was in the Shotley Bridge circuit.
Durham County Record Office contains plans for the construction of the chapel in 1894 with alterations and a Sunday school dating 1900.
When did the chapel close?
