Hazelbury Bryan is west of Blandford Forum. Hazelbury Bryan Primitive Methodist chapel is dated by Keith Guyler in the notes accompanying his photograph as 1847 and 1863.  The 1861 census says that the parish had a population of 761 people – slightly fewer than now.

It is still in use and has been updated – chairs replacing pews to enable a more flexible use.
