The Primitive Methodists in Bolenna in the parish of Perranzabuoe submitted a return from their preaching place to the 1851 Census of Places of Public Religious worship. We do not know from the return whether it was a chapel or simply a room to meet, only that it was not a separate and entire building. It seated 80 and Sunday afternoon services attracted70 worshippers.

The return was completed by John Hampton, the manager, of Perranporth.
