The return from the Primitive Methodist preaching place in Haugh to the 1851 Census of Places of Public Religious worship was completed by James Holt. He reports that they met in a “chamber once a house” where all the seats were free.
There were Sunday school meetings in the morning, afternoon and evening; 90 scholars attended morning and afternoon and 25 in the evening. There were services both afternoon and evening with 10 people attending each.
