Return from Bulkington Primitive Methodist preaching place in the 1851 Census of Places of Public Religious Worship
Provided by David Tonks

The 1851 Census of Public Places of Religious Worship contains a report for a Primitive Methodist preaching place in Bulkington. The return was completed by James Jefferys, a local preacher of Bulkington. Joseph Appleyard, the Registrar, tells us that the room that the services were held in was also used by the family at other times.

50 people attended the morning service and 40 attended the evening one.
