In 1851, Primitive Methodists in Kingston Deverill  were meeting in a dwelling house.  On Census Sunday, 41 people attended the afternoon service and 51 the one in the evening. The Return from Kingston Deveral (sic) Primitive Methodist preaching room in the 1851 Census of Places of Public Religious Worship was completed by Henry Bell, local preacher, of Brixton Deveral
