Sherston Primitive Methodist preaching place

Return from Sherston Primitive Methodist chapel in the 1851 Census of Places of Public Religious Worship
Provided by David Tonks

The return to the 1851 Census of Places of Public Religious Worship contains an entry for Sherston. It is completed  by John Neal, the manager, himself of Sherston.

It records a house rather than a chapel, erected before 1800.  Although it was not a separate and entire building, it was used exclusively as a place of worship..

40 people attended in the afternoon of Sunday March 31st and 90 in the evening.
