There are 13 chapel openings, re-openings and foundation stone layings listed in the 1833 volume. There are no accounts of foundation stone laying but 2 accounts of chapels re-opening.

William Clowes of Hull, one of the key founders of Primitive Methodism preached at the opening services in Kippax (Leeds), Winster and Ashbourn. The Kippax opening also features in the 1834 index – this time including the name of the other preacher at the opening that somehow Mr Clowes omitted to mention.

The chapel at Shadwell in London boasted an eight day clock on its front.

It’s not clear which Newton the Newton chapel was opened in, or whether Woobourn is spelled as it is now or whther it is actually Wooburn or Woburn
