Burnley Rehoboth Primitive Methodist chapel

Burnley Rehoboth Primitive Methodist chapel

The 1881 Primitive Methodist magazine contains an account of the laying of the foundation stones for a new Primitive Methodist Sunday school associated with Rehoboth Primitive Methodist chapel in Burnley.

Rehoboth chapel was opened in 1869. Previously the society had met in a cottage then in a disused mill.

Rehoboth itself was sited at the junction of Waterloo Street and Springfield Road. The Sunday school building was just down the road at the junction of Crowther Street and Springfield Road.

In 2018 the Sunday school building still carries its original name and date of 1881; it is in use as a community centre.. The chapel building itself was demolished many years previously.
