The Return to the Census of Places of Public Religious Worship for Prescot Primitive Methodist chapel was completed by local preacher John Dawson. . He reports that the building, erected in 1837, held up to 155 people. Attendance was 40 in the morning service and 60 in the evening. Morning and afternoon Sunday school each attracted 90 children.
