North Kelso Primitive Methodist chapel

Grimsby circuit

The opening of North Kelso Primitive Methodist chapel is reported in the Primitive Methodist magazine of 1839 by FN Jersey.  Opening services started on October 21st 1838 and the preachers were Mr Wilson, Mrs Barkworth and  Rev Mr Wroe (Baptist minister).

Previously they had worshipped in a small cottage until it was deemed unsafe – after they left it fell down.

The new chapel measured 30′ long by 19′ wide – co-incidentally the same size as chapels built locally at the same time at Marsh and Market Rasen; were they the same design?

I can’t locate North Kelso on maps available to me.  Where was it and what happened to the society and their chapel?  Is it actually North Kelsey?
