Comments about this page

  • This is a tiny settlement between Alford and Sutton on Sea. It is famed most for its thatched parish church, (the only such one in Lincolnshire). Bersby Road today only has nine houses, one of which is the Old Rectory- not exactly the most harmonious location.
    Markby Wesleyan chapel continued well into the latter half of the twentieth century- in 1953 East Coast floods the Wesleyan chapel was the police control point for traffic moving into or out of Sutton.
