Besthorpe Primitive Methodist chapel was opened on 16th September 1866, built of red brick with yellow brick dressings. The occasion was described in the Primitive Methodist Magazine by G Bell. The foundation stone ha been laid on June 6th by Thomas Palmer (Forncett) and speakers at the celebrations (including tea for 120) included Revs T Lowe, J Sheale (Bungay), G Bell, R Taylor, Danzy Sheen (London), R Bell (Yarmouth) and J Smilth (Wymondham).
The building was expected to cost £200 of which they had raised £70.
On Google Street View in 2009 it has been converted into a house called, helpfully, The Old Methodist Chapel.
