Robert Key was involved in establishing over 40 churches, including the first society at Saham. We are told in the Primitive Methodist Magazine of 1914 that of Saham, he says: “I preached a present salvation on a higher key than ever I did before; and, bless God, not in vain. The word ran like fire, five or six were instantly brought down. Some who were mocking one minute were praying the next, and a general cry for mercy followed.”
The Saham Hills Primitive Methodist chapel in the picture was opened in 1876.
It is still in operation in 2015.
