Silfield Primitive Methodist chapel
Keith Guyler 1986

Silfield Primitive Methodist chapel was opened in 1867.

By the time of Keith Guyler’s photograph it was in use as a house.  It still is a house in Google Street View in 2012, although becoming increasingly overgrown with enthusiastic garden plants.

  • Hi Janet
My dad lives at Laurels Farm now. If you’d ever like to pop over for a cup of tea and a walk around the garden pls do get in touch.

    Kind regards.

  • Hi
As a child I spend many holidays in the 40’s at Laurel Farm which was next door to the Chapel. Uncle Cecil was a farmer and preacher at the Chapel and I spent many a Sunday morning happily colouring Scripture pictures on the pew seat. Aunt Mollie ,Cecil’s wife and her brother ,Hubert were the other occupants. Sundays were strictly respected, and I was reprimanded for cleaning my shoes . Happy memories though and I hope to revisit in October . Janet Banham
