Wreningham Primitive Methodist chapel: from an undated postcard
provided by Randle Knight

The picture of Wreningham Primitive Methodist chapel comes from an undated postcard from the collection of Randle Knight.  Neither the village name nor the word Primitive are spelled as we would today.

Where was the chapel ? I can’t see it on the 1906 Ordnance Survey map.

The same picture with the same people pops up in a 1908 edition of the Christian Messenger.

  • That’s good news Robert, but where was it? Was it at Toprow?

  • I know exactly where this is! It is where I attended and later helped to deliver Sunday School with my grandmother Edna Neave. It is no longer a Chapel, it was bought by the property next door and joined to their building.
