Leith Primitive Methodist chapel

The opening of Leith Primitive Methodist chapel is recorded in the Primitive Methodist magazine of 1835.  Leith was in the Bolton circuit at that point.

Opening services were held on 27/10/1834 and 02/11/1834. Preachers were, on the Monday, Rev W Jones (Ind min.) and on the Sunday Messrs Sugden, Longden & Tillotson. It was S Tillotson who wrote about the occasion in the 1835 Primitive Methodist magazine.

The chapel accommodated 3-400 people and the writer expressed gratitude to Philip Newton Esq. for his liberal grant of a suitable building at a reduced price, together with a liberal donation.

Where was the chapel and what happened to it?
