    “NEW CHAPEL AT ALVELEY.
On Saturday week … was laid the first stone of the new Primitive Methodist Chapel. Great numbers attended … the Rev. Wm. Gwylliam, of Kidderminster, opened the proceedings … After Miss Fisher had been presented with a beautiful mallet and silver trowel, she proceeded to lay the stone … laid on the stone a purse of £50 for the building fund … The building site was the free gift of Mr. James Wood. £73 6s. 10½d. was collected on the spot … The building will be of red brick, and white stone dressings, of a neat and ornamented character, and erected under the direction of Mr. D. Jennings, architect and builder, of Mill Street, Bridgnorth, who has taken the contract for the whole.”
